On Day 2A at the World Series of Poker main event, 1,890 players took their seats - the survivors of Days 1A and B heats (see previous InfoPowa reports).
The bad news - former WSOP main event champ Chris Moneymaker was eliminated, along with a slew of other big names that includes Steve ODwyer, Faraz Jaka, Eugene Katchalov, Gaelle Baumann, Johnny Lodden, former main event champ Joe Cada, Eugene Katchalov, Marc-Andre Ladouceur, Jonathan Karamalikis, Matt Salsberg, Jason Lester, Josh Brikis, Lee Markholt and Joe Tehan. and Tristan Wade.
The good news is that 10-time bracelet winner and poker legend Doyle Brunson is still in the hunt, as is last year's main event winner, Greg Merson. Brunson bagged up 224,000 in chips, while Merson grew his stack to 275,600.
Also finishing strongly were Kenny Tran, Ravi Raghavan, Brandon Meyers, Ludovic Lacay, Annette Obrestad, Ronnie Bardah and Cliff Josephy.
When Day2A action closed, it was Nick Schwarmann in the lead on 413,600 in chips, with closest rival Jason DeWitt on 382,900.
